BUSSIN' IT
You walk on to the bus stop and wait for the S62 bus to arrive. As you do, dozens of cars speed by, their drivers always seeming to leer at you, making you feel dumb for never getting a driver's license and buying a car and paying for insurance and depleting the ozone layer with carbon dioxide gases and being one of the highest causes of accidental death and injury.
You smile.
Finally, the bus comes and you enter, dropping your token into the token slot. You elbow your way towards the rear of the bus and sit in the back row. It feels good to sit here. You can almost imagine that you are commandeering the bus from this position, that you are actually driving. Snap out of it.
You reach the Staten Island Ferry terminal.
